Diversity and inclusion in hiring

◉ Retirement rehiring

As Taiwan gradually enters an aging society, Everest actively responds to the human resource challenges posed by changes in the population structure. Through "retirement re-employment", the practice of diversity and inclusion helps preserve the company's technological and knowledge assets, and responds to the government's policy direction of promoting an "age-friendly workplace". Everest believes that older employees are not only the inheritors of experience, but also important assets for innovative applications and value extension. Especially in the process of introducing artificial intelligence and energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies, experienced senior talent can help integrate new and existing technologies, reduce the risk of knowledge gaps, and accelerate the implementation of technology. In 2024, a total of 25 employees retired, of which 5 chose re-employment, with a re-employment rate of 20%. Most of these re-employed personnel are concentrated in key technology and knowledge management departments, supporting functions such as technical consultants, internal training and quality control. Retirement re-employment also provides employees with an opportunity to continue pursuing their life values and goals, which not only improves their quality of life, but also helps with mental health and social connection, truly achieving "positive aging". Everest will continue to optimize retirement re-employment, design flexible working hours, phased work tasks, and cooperate with health promotion to create a friendly workplace and practice corporate social responsibility and sustainable value.

◉ Promote a diverse and inclusive employment environment

Everest cooperates with the "Employment Subsidy Program for People with Disabilities" promoted by the Tainan City Government's Labor Bureau, and continues to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, providing a friendly workplace environment, employment incentive mechanisms, and supportive employment and career rehabilitation services, including vocational training and employment counseling. By promoting a diverse and inclusive employment policy, the employment participation of people with disabilities has increased, achieving the goal of equal employment opportunities and an inclusive workplace. In terms of employment of people with disabilities, the employment rate of the Taiwan factory (1.77%) is higher than the statutory employment rate (1.0%); the employment rate of the Shanghai factory (0.75%) is lower than the statutory employment rate (1.6%); the employment rate of the Thailand factory (0.99%) is lower than the statutory employment rate (1%). Each factory continues to strive toward achieving an employment rate above 2%.

At the 2024 1111 Job Bank "Happy Enterprise" Awards Ceremony, Far Eastern Group's companies stood out from more than 3,700 companies and won 7 gold awards. Five companies, including Yumin Maritime, Sino-Ocean Construction, Everest Industrial, Far Eastern Hospital, and Far Eastern United Clinic, also won silver awards, winning a total of 12 awards. These awards are the greatest recognition of Far Eastern Group's investment in talent cultivation and happy corporate culture.
